Great review Nicole, as always, I must admit prior to it's release and after your initial videos on first receipt, I was keen and eager to not only know more but also consider purchasing, but now thanks to your in depth reviews these expectations have somewhat been changed. I still think this is a great concept, but not for me.

Here in 2021, we still don't see any new iteration of this astonishing product. It's crazy to see just how ahead of the time ASUS used to be. I definitely hope that any lapdock makers can take this idea and turn it as a universal product. Smartphones of today are so powerful that it can easily be used as a portable pocket computer.

You're right, actually ASUS has read to roll out the Padfone about 6 months ago. The reason they delayed was ASUS doesn't have pre-existing relationships with Telcos, so negotiations delayed the launch. It's going to tke ASUS a while to be competitive because they are forging new ground. You're totally right, that is ASUS' biggest challenge with the Padfone.

Great Review of the Pad station. - did you ever get the stylus headset working - have you tried the Asus myCould remote desktop into the zenbook to do more gruling tasks, multiple tabs, or video editing via remote desktop? - Asus Memo 171 how is the battery life - does the Memo 171 run better on ICS you did a review be4 saying it was a little lagy - How does the Memo App on 171 or padfone Compare to S Memo / S Note on the Galaxy Note. Obviously Asus Sylus is not an spen but still.

Never used the stylus, can't find my phone in my bag a small pen would be impossible! I was planning on giving myCloud a spin, I used it last year and wasn't impressed, but I just found out its an entirely new system...so i'll get on it. Regarding the Memo, it would have been cool if they brought it out last year, it's no contest that all the other hardware is superior and will run better.

Hopefully the padfone 2 docking tablet will have its own processor! lol if it is even possible!

I've got 2 year old Asus netbook and I think that Padfone is at times more useful. Technically, my netbook is full-blown PC, but to achieve better battery life, they had to sacrifice power, which makes the netbook completely useless at some scenarios. Playing HD videos, games, using Flash is impossible. There is full desktop OS, but thanks to small resolution using two apps simultaneously is an ordeal and (thanks to inaccurate touchpad) editing pictures is as well. And it's also thick and heavy.

totaly agree with you, its not just that it STILL isnt in the UK its that Asus have not and will not say anything about it either no news nothing. Thats what really concerned with Asus because there are so many complaints about their customer service.

Thanks for the tips, I noticed that option but I what'sapp was the one app that would always crash on me regardless. I'm glad that it's working for you.

If you're just after a solid phone, it's a good choice. But I have to admit, I haven't picked up the Padfone since we got the Samsung S3...

if it had ubuntu for android i would still want one! but will now wait for padfone2. No idea on how long thats going to be, the 1st padfone is not out yet!

BTW Some apps are working in Dynaminc Display Technology - Google Chrome - Whatsapp Plus there is an option in the ASUS Customized Settings to "NOT FORCE SHUT" apps when changing modes.
